Autumn Enso: a video painting by john kannenberg

COVER IMAGES: front | back | large front | large back

A companion to the original album released by the Why Not LTD imprint, this version of john kannenberg's Autumn Enso is a long-form video painting. Originally premiered at the 2006 Spark Festival in Minneapolis, this quietly evolving series of images combines still photography, video, traditional drawing and meticulously manipulated animation with a live performance of the original album's sonic source material. Inspired by the circular enso paintings of zen buddhism, Autumn Enso's delicate balance between representation and abstraction immerses the viewer in a celebration of the cyclical nature of the autumn season. Packaged in a clear slimline storage box with 4-panel cover insert.
